The Rare Book Museum holds a collection of the rarest and most valuable manuscripts of Perm State University Library. It contains approximately 4,500 of primarily hand-written and old printed publications, as well as rare periodicals and Western European book editions from the 16th to the 18th centuries. The collection includes an impressive “Greek-Latin lexicon”, released in Paris in 1552, “The works of Erasmus of Rotterdam” (1536) and amazing miniature editions. The museum is also recognized for the cartographic collection of Ivan Krivoshchekov – the famous Perm ethnographer and cartographer.
